Bloodstone is an excellent blood cleanser and a powerful healing stone. It heightens intuition and increases creativity. It is grounding and protecting. The mineral Heliotrope (also known as Bloodstone) is a variety of jasper (or chalcedony). “Classic" Bloodstone is dark green jasper (chalcedony) with red inclusions of hematite.
The red inclusions are said to resemble spots of blood; hence the name "bloodstone". (Note not all Bloodstone specimens have red inclusions).
